Devin Wesley Bennet
[scrolly:h(200),w(450),sy]
Devin Wesley Bennet was born on on the first of april 1987 to a middleclass family, his childhood wasn’t exactly a happy one which led to him getting kicked out of the house in his senior year of high school. His father was always working hard to provide for the family and was rarely around, he and Devin were close though, whenever his dad was home they spent time together working on his dad’s car or fixing up things around the house, Devin’s mother didn’t get much of the attention though and from a very young age Devin witnessed her cheating on his father with a number of men, mostly guys she met in bars and so forth which usually meant that they were drunken scum. Devin’s mother was never around during the days his dad were gone and he was forced to take care of himself since the age of about eight. Liam never said anything to his dad about his mother escapades, a part of him hoped that his dad would stop travelling so much and everything between him and his mother would get fixed then.
It all came tumbling down when Devin was a senior in high school; he got home from school one day, finding his mother and some drunk guy in a heated argument, instinct took over and Devin jumped in attempt to protect his mom but ended up being knock out cold by a sucker punch from the big brut. When he came to his mom was sitting against a kitchen cupboard crying, with a small blue cut underneath her right eye, which Devin immediately knew came from the same place he got knocked out. Afterward Devin threatened to tell his father the truth and his mother freaked out, telling his dad that he was the one who hit her and they both ended up kicking him out of the house. His dad didn’t really want to do it as much as his mom, he agreed with her though because he didn’t want to loose her.
Devin was totally ignored by his parents for the rest of his senior year, he spent nights at friend’s houses but the majority of the time he slept in the park, he didn’t want anyone to know about him getting kicked out. He soon got an after-school job, but it didn’t pay enough for an apartment, he saved half of his small salary each month and spent the other half on food. He kept all his clothes in an abandoned building close to the park and washed them at the Laundromat whenever he ran out. Devin managed to graduate with flying colors, he even got his photo in the paper, which is when his dad found him and gave him a bank card, an account with the money they had saved for him for college over the years, Devin was reluctant but took it, even though he got a fully paid scholarship for auto mechanics he still needed the money, the scholarship didn’t cover his living expenses.
Over his two years of college Devin worked at a local auto shop part time, the money wasn’t great but he didn’t want to spend all of the money his dad gave him, he hated having to take money from him after he kicked him out like a dog. His dad started making contact with his in his first year, but they never really got back to the way they were. Devin is not a qualified auto-mechanic at the same auto shop he worked during college but dreams of opening his own shop. He has over half of the money his dad gave him left over, but his father refuses to take it back.
friends:
Devin is very outgoing and confident, even though he’s embarrassed about his past, not many people know about him being homeless and it isn’t information he’d easily divulge.
He makes friends easily but doesn’t trust anyone, so he won’t get too close. His friends would probably be his classmates from high school and college, people he met in clubs or bars or someone whose car he fixed. He like partying a lot and is rarely at home when he has off days.
lovers:
Devin doesn’t trust women, he’s always suspicious and gets jealous easily, which is why he hasn’t been in many serious relationships. He’s very charming and flirtatious, but never stays with a girl for long because of his trust issues. He usually leaves the girl as soon as it looks like she’s getting serious over him or vice versa.
enemies:
These would probably be ex-girlfriends who hate his guts or jealous guys, even with Devin’s womanizing ways girls keep dating him, every new one seems to think they’re the one. Devin can also be a real douche bag; he doesn’t think before speaking and can rub people up the wrong way. He’s easy to insult and not afraid to throw a punch, he’s been in many fights many of which he won, which results in people generally being wary of him.
