- you won’t find the beat until you lose yourself in it
The minutes ticked by and she kept rambling on. I let out an annoyed sigh. Look, Mrs. Grayson; I kind of have somewhere to be. Can I go? She looked taken from me interrupted but she just nodded towards the door. I took it as a goodbye, flipped my custom skull candy's back onto my head, gave a casual behind hand wave goodbye and hustled out the door.
The halls were barren, and that came as no surprise to me. Everyone had something to do on a Friday. With music filling my head I took off in a casual walk down the hallway, no need to stop at my locker, I made a B-line towards the door. Fresh air in major need. Once outside I almost felt like someone was lifting a weight off my shoulders, it was the same feeling I got every time I left that stupid building. Of course I actually didn't have to go anywhere. The only real plan I had right now was just to walk around, if I met someone I met someone.

Routine. Why did it make me want to just punch something in the face? I hated wandering around the same hallways, going to the same classes day after day and dealing with the same bull shit. Maybe thats the reason why I partied every chance I got, or was just barely getting by in school. Whatever the reason was I just couldn't wait to get out of this dump. I kept telling myself just one more year, one more year and I could head off the college. But then I would be doing what 4 more years of schooling there. Fat chance. I was a smart kid, I just didn't find anything we were learning worth learning. So I stuck to the outskirts of the school, I wasn't involved in drugs, drinking ya, but nothing to bad. I normally just did my own thing, sat around and listened to music, anything to drown out the annoying lectures that the teachers were paid to give students like me who didn't give a rip. She looked unamused and I gave up on all humor. I knew what speech was coming. Why don't you try harder? Your such a brilliant boy. You can go so far. Blah. Blah. Blah. And life goes on I took my headphones off my head, letting them rest around my neck. I pretended to be interested in her spiel that she gave, since the more I listened the sooner I could go.that’s why we won’t back down
we won’t run and hide
There was about 20 minutes left of class, what was I doing? The same thing I did everyday. Avoiding doing my homework at all costs, jamming to some music. I didn't bother with my homework, I understood everything we were being taught and it showed on my tests, so why waste my time. I sighed and arched my back over my chair, hearing a satisfying crack. The teacher, like always was eying me up as I casually tapped my pencil to the song I was currently listening to. I glared back at her, mulled over the thought of flipping her the bird but thought against it. This was the last class of the day and I didn't really want to deal with detention.i’m passing over you like a satellite
I shook my head slightly, flipping my brown hair out of my forest green eyes. Time sure flys when your doing dick all because at that exact moment the bell decided to save my life. The screech of chairs, the crinkle of paper and the murmuring of voices filled the class. I would occasionally pick up the conversations on what people were doing on the weekend, did I care? Absolutely not. I shrugged my backpack over my shoulders, pushed my chair into my desk and started to leave. Jesse. Can I talk to you. She let me get to the door before speaking to me. There was no questioning in her voice, it was more like a demand. I sighed, rolled my eyes and spun on my heel. I guess I don't really have a choice now do I?
that’s why you stick to your game plans and party lives
