Stopping abruptly as she saw the beer fall from Devin’s hand Mia let out a small gasp as her face cringed when it hit his chest. Luckily it wasn’t a huge mess, getting nowhere else but on his clothes, but even that wasn’t so lucky. He was right though, now he would have to change, even clean up a bit before leaving, even to her someone who smelled that badly of beer was a complete turn off. If he was going to the bar to make himself a lady friend or even get near one who wasn’t completely intoxicated themselves he would have to cover up the smell.
Next though Mia was caught slightly off guard as he started undressing right there before her in the living room. His jacket being peeled off first before Devin pulled his shirt over his head as well dropping them both on the couch beside him. It wasn’t like she had never seen a nice body before, she had even seen one on her first night back in town but it was one of her few true weaknesses. A man who took care of himself, with a nice body, was unlike anything else when it came to making her squirm. “I will wait in here then I guess.” She said under her breath watching him closely as he passed resisting the urge to make him her next escapade. She walked towards the window near the front door looking out it but only for a second before he reappeared a new shirt covering up everything he had shown her moments before allowing her to think clearly again.
“You do realize you have a dirty laundry hamper in the bathroom closet don’t you?” Mia teased as he moved the dirty clothes from the couch to the floor in a different corner of the room. Expecting nothing less from a guy she imagined his things probably gathered like that til he decided he needed clothes again and gathered them to clean. “And thank you.” She said this time taking his compliment a bit better than previously with a small playful curtsey and a smile. “Whenever you are ready to go.”

”Yeah I do realize, just not in the mood to walk aaaall the way back there.” Devin replied to her comment with a chuckle, being a little dramatic, he was always that lazy and usually put off tidying up his place until he ran out of clothes or space to walk, whichever came first ”It’s usually just me in here and not for too long either, it’s just a place to sleep.” he added as he pulled his shirt on, smoothing it Out afterward. He then grabbed his jacket and keys from the table, just as she asked if he was ready ”Hell to the yeah, lets hit the road.” he said in reply as he headed to the door, letting her walk out first since he had to lock the door behind him, which he did once she was outside.
Once they were both in the car he drove off in the general direction of the neighboring town, ”You can check for CD you like in there.” he said as he rested his head against the headrest, he knew the drive would take at least an half an hour and didn’t want any awkward silences. He made a few turns and hit the freeway after several minutes of driving ”So, uhm, what have you been up to these last couple of years?” he asked in attempt to start some sort of a conversation, glancing at Mia, who he couldn’t help to check out a bit as he did, she was undoubtedly extremely attractive.
They spent the half hour drive talking about their pasts a bit, Devin not really going into deep detail of his because he didn’t like people knowing how messed up his life really was. The time seemed to fly by and they were in the club’s parking lot in what felt like no time, ”If we get separated for some reason just give me a call and I’ll meet up with you.” he said as he took his card out of his jacket’s inner pocket and handed it to her, he hoped they wouldn’t and didn’t think they would, but it was good to take precaution just in case.
From the outside, the club didn’t seem like much, but once they got inside Devin was pleasantly surprised at how nicely the old building had been fixed up, it was a huge place and even though it was still pretty early there were already a lot of people. ”Nice.” he stated simply as he made his way toward the bar, looking over his shoulder to make sure Mia was keeping up ”What’s your poison?” he asked, referring to what she would like to drink once they reached the bar.

Mia flipped through the CD case as she started giving him some line about the past few years of her life. There were things she wasn’t proud of, things she didn’t want him to know so a lot of it she either left out or modified a bit in the process. “Just enjoying New York really.” It was the only way she knew how to end it without sounding to morbid about the whole thing. Whether or not there were bad parts she was alive and well, she had just as many good times too and those time more then made her forget about the rest. Usually alcohol induced memory lapse but avoidance none the less.
From the outside the building looked a bit older, nothing spectacular, and you would have never known from the number of cars outside how many people would be inside already. As they walked inside though Mia was pleasantly surprised at how different it was from what she had expected. Completely redone, tables around a huge lighted dance floor, and a huge bar against the opposing back wall, this was somewhere she could easily find herself in that same alcohol induced state. Tonight very well may end up being the first truly good party she had been to since arriving.
Devin passed her his card as he mentioned being concerned about getting separated and Mia smiled amused looking it over one eye cocked and narrow as if saying are you kidding me. He was a business man no doubt but she wasn’t sure she had ever seen a mechanic carry around his own cards, but to each their own. Stepping to the bar with him Mia looked up and down the rows of booze her mind mulling over each one like thinking down a list if recipes you could use each for. “A double shot of anything, and a beer. I don’t care what kind but don’t be a cheap ass.” Turning around letting him figure out their order with the bartender the music suddenly became louder, the lights dimming as people crowded the dance floor. It must have been that time, most places didn’t get really loud and obnoxious til at least eight and looking at the clock on the wall above the bar behind her, it was past that. Seeing her shots out of the corner of her eye Mia turned around again taking them down once again like a pro, one immediately followed by the next reaching out for her beer as it was placed in front of her.
“So,” Mia quickly started in not wasting any time at all as she leaned her back up against the bar, “do you see your un wounded evening target?” She was there for the alcohol not so much the scenery just looking for an honestl good time. Devin on the other hand she wasn’t quite sure of, but she was more than curious to see his type. Her eyes themselves darted around the room from face to face, a bit of judgment in them as she tried to pick the one he would choose out herself. There weren’t many that she thought stacked up to him, to his moral and standards as she had perceived them at the café, but from daytime to night time, those ideals could have changed drastically.

Devin rolled his eyes at told not to be a cheap ass, he was generally very generous with the money he had and her just implying him being otherwise was a little offending, but he shrugged it off as just a joke, which he was sure it was. He ordered them each a Heineken, which was his favorite beer and a double shot of gold tequila which was sure to get their blood pumping. He followed suit and swallowed one shot after the other, not even blinking, the only thing that still got him to pull a face was Stroh Rum, which was something he would never drink again, under any circumstances, not after the last time.
Once his shots was finished he turned and looked out over the now filled dancefloor, checking for any talent ”They’ll come to me… Watch.” he said as he leaned against the chair next to him, hoping he was right otherwise he’d look like a real idiot. Fortunately it wasn’t long before a blonde approached him, using a line so many girls have used on him before ”Don’t I know you from somewhere?” she asked, getting up close to Devin and smiling, ”No I don’t think so, but hey, you can get to know me…” he replied moving even closer to the girl, so close that their noses almost touched, he lingered there for a few seconds before taking a step back, giving her one of the cards in his pocket, which were their main purpose.
He then turned away from her and fortunately she got the hint and walked away, as soon as she was out of sight he chuckled slightly ”See…” he said shaking his head ”Sometimes I don’t have to do anything, just stand here and look pretty.” he added ”Not that I see it though, I’m not THAT goodlooking.” said seconds later, this time looking at Mia, shrugging his shoulders as he took a large swig of his beer. ”Now, what about you? See anyone promising?” he asked as he looked at some of the guys in the club, not really sure what to look for since he didn’t find guys even remotely attractive ”If you swing both ways this could get intresting.” he joked as he moved a bit closer to her, the music was getting too loud to have a conversation from too far away.

Stepping another foot or so from him to give him a bit of room, look available Mia mused to herself over his comment. She didn’t doubt they would flock to him but his confidence in it was slightly humorous the way he approached it. It only took minutes though literally before the first one did indeed make her way over to him claiming to have known him from somewhere. Devin moved close enough to her to nearly touch her and Mia watched the tension rise in the girls body at the prospect before he handed her a card and more or less shooed her away.
Devin’s attention turned back to Mia and she shook her head. “See it or not you obviously got the looks and the charm.” Sarcasticness oozed in her voice, not because he didn’t but because the entire thing was still something that tickled her funny bone. When the tables turned back on her though she took her eyes back to the room again looking for something prospective for herself.
There were decent looking guys, she could possibly see herself wasting some time with but not really anyone Mia would have taken home or spent effort on. Whether or not you would believe it the way she acted, personality to her was a big turn on too. So although someone may not be an Abercrombie model in the face if they were at least good looking and had the brains or character to match it her mind could be easily changed. “I could settle I guess. Have a bit of fun wasting some time away. But if you are asking if there is anyone that I would just love to try and jump on top of at the end of the night probably not.” Not right off the bat anways, Devin of course not included in either end of the spectrum. He intrigued her, as did anyone she found in that caliber, but she hadn’t yet placed him in her mind yet. “As for my batting average, I love men far too much to ever bat for the other team.” Of course that didn’t mean she hadn’t been a part of a few moments if you wanted to call them that. Nothing to be ashamed of in that. Men though, they were where the fun was, where her emotions and hormones chose to run, and if her heart ever belonged that too would go to a man.
Wasting some time Mia and Devin spent several hours just standing around the bar trading in empty beer bottles for new ones and probably killing themselves doing extra shots of the hard stuff. By the time eleven oclock rolled around Mia was feeling more than good, her mind not thinking completely direct but she was still sharp, the room not spinning but her body feeling slightly tingly. The night was finally just beginning. Topping off another beer bottle she placed it on the bar behind her turning to Devin and grabbing his hand a bit courageously as she pulled him towards the dance floor. “Dance with me.”

Devin shrugged when Mia pointed out the obvious, he had to have something for the girls to be so attracted towards him, but he didn’t see it, he had a pretty large ego, but not big enough to think he’s god’s gift to women or something. As Devin scanned the room, not looking for girls but potential guys for Mia he realized that he was totally different from how he would’ve if he had came alone, he definitely wouldn’t be scoping out guys for someone else. ”Well, keep drinking, they might get more appealing.” he joked when she pointed out that none of them were interesting enough to ‘jump on’. He chuckled when she talked about loving guys too much ”Well that’s not a bad thing I guess, but threesomes are pretty damn awesome….” he joked flirtingly, getting with Mia would definitely not be a bad thing in his eyes, but somehow he saw them being friend too, which was strange, he never really befriended girls, he didn’t trust them, he didn’t fully trust her either, she was just different than most girls, he felt like he didn’t need to play any games with her, he could just be himself, which was a refreshing change.
The time they spent just hovering was a lot of fun, Devin had a few more beers and watch Mia knock back more shots, and he was surprised at how much she could take. He eyed Mia and she did seem a little tipsy, but most girls would be knocked out cold by then, heck most guys too. He joined in and had a shot with her when she had her last of the moment, they chatted a bit too, just idle small talk and a lot of flirting from his side, which came naturally to him. When Mia attempted pulling his onto the dance floor he stood his ground ”Not now Hun, go enjoy yourself, I’ll watch.” he said with a smile holding on to her hand, not wanting to shrug it off and come off as rude or something, waiting for her to drop it, that’s if she was giving up so easily.

Of course he would watch, that she was sure of but she didn’t want him to watch her dancing by herself, that was never any fun. She wanted him to go out there with her and she wasn’t done trying to get him out there just yet. Mia gave him a pouty lip as she let their hands drop a bit but not letting go as she moved in closer to him instead placing his hand around her on the small of her back. If he wouldn’t go with her she would be just as content standing right there with him dancing, he would be the one to look like the idiot.
The music changed and Mia smiled mischievously letting her hips do the talking as she moved to the beat. “Come on.” She said looking at him her eyebrows arched in question wondering if he would give in. Pressing herself closer to him she wrapped her own arms around his neck moving against him, not in large exaggerated movements like she might actually do on the dance floor but small more expressive ones. Looking from his face down to the beer bottle in his other hand she took it from him chugging the last few drinks without issue setting it beside her own on the bar. “Now you have no reason to say no. I can go find someone else I guess if you would rather even though I wouldn’t.” Devin was her company for the night and if she was going to have a good time it was going to be with him and so would he. Hopefully though she wouldn’t have to take to the crowds of guys around the room to find someone else, hopefully he honestly for whatever reason didn’t want her to either.

Devin smiled broadly when Mia made a puppy face, amused at how she was trying to get him to give in. He watched her as she danced, he had to admit, she was a good persuader, watching her dance was quite the turn on. She made it worse as she moved closer and Devin shifted awkwardly, for the first time in his life not sure how to react. As she finished his drink and wrapped his arms around her neck he smiled, thankful that he had enough self control to resist her, at least for now, he usually only danced when he was at least a little tipsy and he wasn’t closed to being that yet. He said nothing when she half threatened to find someone else to dance with, wanting to see if she’d actually do it.
After about a half a minute she gave up and took his arm off her, which he folded with a smirk, he was not sure what he was doing, playing hard to get? No, he didn’t know what it was he wanted to achieve. He kept his eyes on her as she moved onto the dance floor through crowds of people, obviously searching for a willing dance partner, which she had no trouble finding. He frowned as she watched her dance with some dark haired guy, for some reason not liking it at all, his hands all over her, Shit dude are you jealous? he asked himself shaking his head, no, not him, no way. He took the two shots the bartender took the liberty of refilling and threw them down his throat, resisting the urge to go and intervene on the dance floor. ”Urg what the hell.” he finally said when he couldn’t take it anymore, throwing caution to the wind and moving in through the crowd of people toward Mia, pushing the guy away she was dancing with, being much smaller than him the guy didn’t attempt starting anything, the look Devin gave him a clear warning that he’d put him on his ass. He then turned and smiled Mia, swaying and bopping to the beat of the music, he wasn’t the best of dancers, but knew enough to keep him from looking like a complete idiot. He put his hands on her hips and followed her rhythm, feeling the effects of the last two shots a bit.

Devin’s feet didn’t move from where he stood, no matter how she touched him, no matter how she moved and eventually Mia became bored with even trying. She gave him one more questioning look, an opportunity to change his mind before she did hers. When it didn’t though she knew that her evening fun was going to be found else where and gave him a shrug of the shoulders, “ Alright,” before walking away.
Mia didn’t know where she was going, she could have pulled someone off the sidelines from another part of the room but decided making that big of an attempt again wasn’t something she wanted to do at the moment. She just wanted to dance, and enjoy herself. There were tons of people on the dance floor, enough that surely she shouldn’t have too much trouble finding someone who did want to dance with her. First half done, they were already dancing, second, with her. It didn’t take long though as she passed through another crowd of people someone reached out and touched her arm to get her attention and as she turned around flashed her that come hither sort of smile. Returning it and giving him a good once over she agreed finding her place in front of him and again moving her body against him with the music.
Every once in a while Mia found her eyes drifting back towards the bar just to see what Devin was busying himself with, half expecting a flock of women to have taken her place beside him and surprised when there wasn’t even one. Letting it go her focus turned back to what she was doing, the guy could dance, his confidence either coming from alcohol or truly a part of him. It didn’t matter which it was to her, her alcohol having just enough effect to sort of be in her own little world as they moved together his hands every once in a while wandering down to her backside.
Feeling the music pulsing through her body Mia closed her eyes only to have them abruptly snapped open when she felt the huge adjustment of separation between them slowly her pace to a near stop seeing Devin standing there. “What are you doing? She asked him seeing him give the poor guy the stink eye before he ran off again. Moving in closer to Devin she wrapped her arms around his neck with a rouge smile as she again paced herself to the beat as the music changed over head. It was one of those very awkward to dance to type songs, no real rhythm, not fast enough to dance to not slow enough to be a slow dance, more seductive probably than anything given the right circumstances. “You changed your mind rather quickly? What happened? Two seconds ago when I was asking you to come with me you wouldn’t move two steps towards the dance floor.”

Devin wasn’t exactly sure what he was doing, all he was sure of was that he would rather dance with her than watch some guy all over her. ”Changed my mind.” he said loudly over the music with half a smile, his head spinning, he wasn’t used to being so jealous, of course he didn’t admit to himself he was and he wouldn’t admit it to her either, but it was kind of obvious. He silently danced along with her, wishing the song would end soon because it wasn’t all that easy to dance to, ”This song kinda sucks, I’m not much of a dancer so feel free to teach me… Or not, whatever.” he said, surprising himself by his momentary lack of confidence, no one ever told him he was a bad dancer, he just compared himself to most other guys and found that he didn’t move half as much as they did.
When the song ended he felt relieve wash over him, Pull yourself together. he shunned himself just as the next song started and they switched their rhythm to match it, he danced much more confidently this time, smiling as he started to enjoy it. He moved his body closer to Mia’s, feeling that strange light-headed feeling she usually got when he got that close to girls, with her it was just a little more intense. A part of him telled him to run, get away from her, but the majority of him wanted to stay close to her. The song ended after a few minutes and as it did Devin tried to figure out a way of getting her off the dance floor, the dancing was great but got him tired pretty quickly, ”I’m getting another drink, I’ll be over there if you miss me.” he whispered in her ear, feeling himself go back to his old self, he squeezed her hand lightly when her arms dropped off his shoulder, gave her a small wink before heading back to the bar.
Once he ordered two more round of drinks, a beer for each of them and a shot recommended by the barman called a pancake, which supposedly tastes much better than tequila, he leaned against the bar, sipping on his beer, waiting for Mia to return, not really searching for her, afraid that if he saw that guy back with her he’d lose his temper. He wasn’t usually the hot-headed, short tempered type of guy, he was typically really laid back so he took the time he had alone to compose himself before he could make more of a fool of himself.

The strange song that had been on moments before changed suddenly and Mia noticed the almost instant change in Devin’s dancing and confidence it seemed. He was the one to pull her in closer this time, she just smiled and continued doing what it was she did best. The heat was intensified tenfold on the dance floor, the bodies packed around them, their closeness and if nowhere else in the world besides the bedroom this was one place she loved the heat, the sweatiness.
Slowly Devin’s movements stopped and Mia curiously watched slowing her own just a bit as he leaned around her to whisper to her letting her know his plans for another drink. Watching him walk away only dropping her hand after the reach getting to far he moved off the dance floor, someone already almost automatically moving into his place. Not ready to leave just yet she stayed and continued dancing through the rest of the song with her new partner.
Looking across the room for him again Mia spotted Devin right where he said he would be at the bar and quickly dropped her new partner leaving the dance floor. Walking up behind him she squeezed in beside him leaning on one arm pressed between him and the next person. Before he even noticed she was there she leaned in a bit closer to talk above the noise, “You didn’t last long.” When she had originally asked him to dance she hadn’t figured he would stay forever but not nearly as short a stay as he had, she had worn her own self out too though moving like she was. Devin passed a beer over to where she stood followed by a shot and she smiled, “Good! I was thirsty.” Tossing the shot once again quickly back she chased it with the beer before turning around again leaning her back against the bar. “I told you I sucked as a wingman by the way. Besides that first girl, I haven’t seen you with anyone.”

Devin was a bit startled when he heard Mia’s voice coming from so close and turned his head quickly to look at her, he didn’t expect her to be back so soon ”Dancing’s not my think unless I’m thoroughly wasted.” he said honestly as he turned his whole body towards her, once again standing very close to her, but this time it didn’t bother him as much, the time he had to regain his composure was just about enough and he realized that he was being silly, mistaking sexual attraction for something more, something he promised himself he’d never allow himself to feel for anyone. ”You’re back sooner than I expected though….” he said soon after, bringing his face closer to hers before adding ”You missed me didn’t you?” flirting in the confident way he always did, sounding alluring and serious, even though he was pretty much just joking around.
”Yeah you’re right, they must find you a little intimidating I guess.” was his response to Mia’s comment about no one else approaching him so far that night, he did get a few interested looks from girls, but none of them approached him like they usually did ”I guess I’ll just have to up my game a little.” he added soon after as he scanned the club for potential, there were some relatively hot girls around, but he didn’t really feel motivated enough to initiate anything yet. Long after Mia drank her shot, Devin took it as well, not swallowing it so fast because he was interested to know how it tasted, and it was very cinnamony and seemed to burn all the way down to his stomach, he loved how it seemed to heat him up from the inside.
”Wanna play a game?” he asked after taking his shot as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand before looking once again at Mia, his one eyebrow raised slightly. He didn’t wait for to answer though, he went straight into his proposition without pausing ”You pick any girl in here you think wouldn’t go for me and I’ll try getting her number, maybe a bit more, I guess you could call it a bet because if I fail you can have me as your personal slave for the rest of the night, if I don’t, well, I’ll be happy with the satisfaction of proving you wrong.” he explained with a constantly growing smile, ”No rules, it can be any girl.” he added confidently as he once more leaned against the bar waiting to see if she was going to go for it.

You missed me didn’t you? Devin asked her after finally realizing she was there and turning towards her, his face close enough to touch her own. “You wish don’t you. Cute.” Mia wrinkled her nose slightly and moved it to barely touch his before whipping her head back in a laugh and taking a drink. He hadn’t been gone long enough yet for her to miss him, especially knowing that he was standing alone by himself, practically waiting for her to come back and keep him company.
Mia’s let her shoulders shrug a bit when he suggested that girls were intimidated of her. Perhaps that was the case but she hadn’t been around for every minute since they arrived at the bar. There had been a few in between including when she had left him for the dance floor that he had been on his own. It wasn’t something she was about to push though instead going with his idea. “I am pretty intimidating aren’t I?” Devin suggested upping his own game as he took his shot down quickly letting it settle as she watched. Upping his game shouldn’t be hard considering for the most part he had just been standing against the bar, moving would be a start, talking to someone and putting effort forth.
Mia’s ears perked up and her eyes grew wide at the mention of a game again turning her body back towards him her attention fully his as interested as she was of what he had in mind. The suggestion of letting her pick him a girl was more than tempting being she was one. She could read them better than he ever could. The way they dressed, the way they acted, the looks on their face. This game would be over sooner than it began, he couldn’t be serious. “You sure you want to go there?” Her eyes scanned the room from face to face before even waiting for his answer taking note of the details and aura of each person she saw. Top too low, easy as pie. Boyfriend, that would just end up in a fight. O0o0 but there was one. Dressed to kill but not of a heart attack, look on her face that read she was untouchable and she probably was, definitely a nine at least in anyone’s book. She was just about to turn and give him her challenge when she noticed a girl of equal caliber a few feet to the left kissing another female.
A devious smile spread across Mia’s face like wild fire as her brilliant idea formulated in her mind. It wasn’t so much about him being her slave for the evening as having the ability to say she won and she settled on it rather quickly seeing the girlfriend walk away. “The girl right over there.” She told him nodding her head in the general direction and pointing with her beer bottle in her hand. “You have a ten minute maximum though so I suggest you get going.”

Devin loved a challenge and was getting pretty bored with standing around doing nothing but drink, so he was pretty serious about the ‘game’ he suggested and felt excited when he realized she was considering it ”Bring it on, worst case will be; she rejects me and I’m forced to come back here and be your slave… Which I don’t mind if there’s a whip involved.” he replied jokingly as he tried to follow her line of sight, curious about who she was going to pick, but it was hard since the place was so crowded and he couldn’t be sure who she was looking at. He only knew once she pointed her out and tilted his head, trying to read her and figure out which approach would be best. ”No problem.” he said when she mentioned a time limit and slowly walked toward the girl.
”Hi there.” he said to her friendlily, to which the girl responded with nothing but a hesitant nod and raised eyebrows. ”Look, this is going to sound very forward, but you caught my attention the minute you walked in here and I was hoping I could have your number? I’d really like to get to know so better” he lied smoothly, moving closer to her with each word and with a charming smile curving his lips. The girl frowned, as if he was missing something before telling his, in harsh words, that she wasn’t interested. Devin was shocked at how brutal she was and shrugged, he would’ve pushed on but he could tell it wouldn’t get him anywhere so he just turned around and headed back to Mia with a look of defeat on his face.
”Ok, you win… She must me an undercover nun or something.” he said to her once he was in front of her, shaking his head, it was a huge blow to his ego, it was the first time he got turned down so harshly. ”What’s my first order now that I’m your personal slave for the night? he asked with a slight smile several seconds later after shrugging off what happened with the girl, he would take defeat like a man and wasn’t going to be all pouty over it, there were loads of other girls that were interested. He also signaled the barman for another round of drink to be put on his tab, not feeling the effects of those he had strongly enough anymore.

With confidence Devin told her that the girl she had picked out would be no problem for him and strutted off across the club in her direction. Amused Mia took another drink of her beer watching him closely as he did so. She could see his mouth moving, the changing glances on his face; charming smiles, I wanna bed you eyes. She laughed hysterically inside every once in a while letting an audible one go as she noticed him again turning back in her direction and stopping in front of her to admit his defeat.
“Told you. You didn’t wanna play that game.” Better luck next time was all Mia could think surely her face said the same thing as he succeeded himself to her for the evening asking her first request. Her mind pondered all the things she could make him do, dare type situations for her own amusement, things she didn’t want to do herself in general, anything really but unfairly she had one and it was honestly killing her to not say anything. “I can’t do this anymore.” She said another laugh coming loudly from her mouth as she shook her head and set the beer back down on the bar again. “Remember us talking about our teams earlier and the ones we hit for? She doesn’t hit for the same one as me.”
Mia watched his face closely for the look of frustration to disappear and something to replace it, amusement or anger even. The game had been fixed, and she had done it well she thought as she picked up the beer again quickly taking a drink and about spitting it out again as she saw the girl who had just rejected him and her partner walking towards them. With her hand Mia wiped her face as she watched the events unfold before her. A piece of paper in hand the girlfriend of the woman she had challenged him to approached him and passed it off, phone number obviously enclosed. The other had told her about his lame attempt at hitting on her and after talking about it somewhere in the middle of it all the second one found herself interested despite the others non interest. They were there offering to “get together” later if he wanted.
Picking up her jaw off the floor Mia’s head shook in utter disbelief. “That seriously didn’t just happen.” It had though , she knew she was drunk but not enough to lose touch of reality, and the smirk on his face told her so as well. “I guess this means all bets off. She wasn’t the original challenge, but it wasn’t fair to begin with so no winners.” It was late anyways, far past midnight and although she had considered giving him a fair challenge and having another go at it she had lost interest rather quickly, she wasn’t a sore loser, but this she hadn’t expected, even if it wasn’t technically a loss. “We sleeping in the car tonight? I can’t drive.”
